Njamy Sitson attended me to this movie, already on YouTube. Fatala, with the great Arafan Touré ! The first video I ever saw with this great master and more then wonderful human being in it. I re-published it as an extra version, maybe more suitable to play HD, on a big screen.
On Saturday the 10th of May 2003 Arafan and Johan Aben, a percussionist from Eindhoven, did some testrecording in preparation of a solo cd. The solo cd itself however was never made, because Arafan passed away a week after the recordings.
Johan Aben edited the recordings and produced a unique cd (a mini-cd of approximately 18 minutes), combining the sounds of Arafan's djembe with electronic, dj-like sounds. The cd contains also a live-recording and some pictures of a performance by the percussiongroup Bracumba with Arafan as a guestplayer.
The price of this cd is 9 euros, including the expenses for handling/transport within the Netherlands (3 euros).
More and more movie’s published on this site are also becoming available as a free download in The iTunes Store. Should you wish to have them permanently e.g. on your iPad.

Er schijnt een djembe boek aan te komen gebaseerd op de grote djembé meester Arafan Touré. Arafan is al weer vele jaren geleden overleden, droevig genoeg.... Ik werd gevraagd om in mijn archief naar foto's te zoeken van Arafan voor dit binnenkort te publiceren boek. Heb ik gedaan en ik vond ook deze live registratie, van een jonge Bracumba met Arafan als zéér speciale gast. Een zeldzaam mooi, ervaren en wijs man en een grootmeester van Afrikaanse Ritmes, Arafan Touré.
